Klangmaschine 01
An old typewriter was modified so that by extending its mechanic with strings and typewriter-parts, sounds were created in a resonating body of bottles and glasses, which were installed in the room.
A string was attached to the lever below the key, then led through the machine and from there through an eye on the ceiling. At the end of the string a dismantled part of the typewriter rested in a bottle / glass, which also hung from the ceiling.
If a key on the typewriter was pressed, the typewriter-part was lifted and dropped, thus creating a sound.
The typewriter was, despite all modifications and dismantling, kept funtional, so the usual sounds of writing on a typewriter merged with the sounds of the Klangmaschine 01. If used for text, an automatic symphony originated, if used with the sounds in mind, automatic text appeared on the paper.
